"How can you support a president that actively circumvents rules just to increase her CV? She has introduced herself as a “world champion” many times omitting the fact that it was for English as a Second Language category (Harvard won the debate tournament btw). A category she should not have been eligible for based on the rules below:
1. Have spoken English for more than 5 years as a primary language in their home or social circle
2. Have spent more than 5 years when of school age of above in a country where English is the primary medium of exchange (PHILIPPINES!!)
3. Have spent more than 5 years enrolled din an educational program where english is the effective medium of instruction (DLSU!) "

Is this true?

Sent to  my inbox. Kinopya daw mula sa tambak ng photocopy sa office ng philo.

We the tenured faculty of the Philosophy Department would like to express our strong objection to the hiring on a permanent basis of our colleague, Dr. Jeremiah Joven Joaquin. As a body tasked to  discuss the matter of whether a faculty should join us for the long haul we have met twice to consider the case of Dr. Joaquin.
First on  the matter of hiring, the departmental decision, reached by consensus, should carry the most weight. Dr. Joaquin, who has been with the department since 2006, we have had ample opportunity to assess his contributions and compatibility with our unit. HIs contributions are mixed, and the negative influence of his presence far outweighs his competencies. We unanimously believe that his hiring on a permanent basis would result in long term harm to our department.
Second the decisive factor in our decision not to recommend Dr. Joaquin concerns a matter not extraneous to his professional work. His actions towards a former student crossed the boundaries of propriety that  undermined, simultaneously, not only his working relations with students known to him at the time, but also with other members of the academic community who were privy to his actiions. In light of a previous case in 2009. concerning his extramarital affair with a colleague - for whihc he had already been given dispensation - we cannot help but conclude that he is a recidivist.

Buhayin ang Corruption Issue
"I just read the articles of TLS and APP about this issue. Nakakadisappoint ang sagot ng USG. There's BS and crap in every statement. Seriously, wala man lang assurance sa students na they will do something about this. I'm even more disappointed with the current USG prez. I voted for him. Classmates kami on some classes before and I found him better than the other guy. Or so I thought.
Wala ba talagang ibang magagawa maliban sa impeachment of these officers? Can these corrupt officials get more harmful punishments for their actions? Kahit i-deny lang sila ng GMRC or whatever. Sus. Nagpapaganda lang ng resume ung mga yan. "

Eto pa!!!

TRAPO
"Ano 'to??? Bakit ganyan? Para mo naring sinabing kalimutan natin 'yung mga ginawa ni Marcos dahil ibang tao naman yung presidente natin ngayon. Obviously bothered ang mga studyante ng DLSU regarding the #USGSerye issue... akala ko ba student-centered tayo dito?
So ano? Kakalimutan nalang porket ka-partido 'yung mga taong involved? Ask yourself this -- would you have done/said the same kung taga-kabilang party 'yung nasangkot sa allegations? Diba hindi?
Bakit wala man lang effort on their part to investigate and delve deeper?

 "Hi!
I was reading the whole corruption on the page and after reading everything, I decided to post some of the things that I know. Hope this message gets through! I won't drop the name of the party or name of people but I'll make it kinda obvious for those who can understand.
So I was an active member of one of the parties and I really love my college and the core who took care of me. After a few years, I became a core and a very active one. I was suppose to be a college general though but I didn't. I'm one of those people who they call "may bearing" so I know a lot of stuff in the party, most especially the inside politics that even the party has (mind you even other normal orgs have inside politics right?). Apparently the people who were taking care of me told me na there are some bias and divisions even inside the party, specifically the division amongst each colleges or rather the division amongst the big colleges vs the not so big or the small colleges (thats how they call it), and since our college is considered as a not so big or a small college, sometimes they look at us as "walang bearing" or "walang say" or "di pinakikinggan". So colleges that are small like us (eng, cos, soe, ced and soe) are often neglected or disregarded in the inside politics of the party unless you have an alumni who have some bearing, which we didn't have until recently. These college are often neglected specially when most of the active alumni who has "bearing" are all from the same colleges or big colleges. So my tatays and nanays and their tatays and nanays before them were all trying to prove something to the party so that they could have a "say" on things and have some power in the "inside politics" or be at least be on par with the big colleges. Okay so I don't know if you still understood or were able to follow the introduction of my story.
So fast forward to the issue at hand. Here's a trivia, most of the known corruption issues posted in this page or even those who are not posted here are from what college? the scholarship issue, the bazaar issue and other issues related to corruption mostly, if not all, from the same college.
My nanays and tatays of the party from my college told me a story that happened last SE (special elections). Remember when the our party had an impeachment issue with the scholarship of a person and the accused are the current OVPEA and OTREAS that time? Apparently when the alumni of the party met with their current core, the OTREAS that time actually admitted he stole funds from the bazaar and scholarship money. They even had lawyers and smart ass law people advising them what to do that time. So apparently the legal choice was since the current OVPEA back then can actually come out clean (coz apparently she's really clean pala) all they need to do was to "laglag" the OTREAS person so that the OVPEA that time can finally be labelled innocent as in make Mr. OTREAS just admit in public that he stole and say the Ms. OVPEA was really was innocent and had nothing to do with it pala talaga, but then the alumni of the college from where the OTREAS came from said na "walang laglagan" coz it's part of the values of the party to not do laglagan, its the "family" value of their FIFIP (but wtf?? isn't integrity also part of your values???), they said to the current party people na they cannot sell Mr. OTREAS out and said na to make an argument to defend both the OVPEA (who's running for OPRES that time and was actually clean) and the OTREAS (who admitted it was all his fault). The OVPEA person who's running for OPRES that time was actually from the same college from where Mr. OTREAS came from, though she was a shiftee from a not so big college or from our college and her running for OPRES was actually not supported by the alumni of the big college. So do you get the inside politics there? Actually I have more stories regarding this but I'll think whether to post the other stories because they are really juicy. Perks of having friends who are from the very very higher ups of the party. There are actually more side stories connected to this one but it's not about corruption anymore, it's more about the politics inside the DLSU system. Anyways that is the reason why when I hear or read stories of people hating on the current OVPEA that time, I cringed so much because she was just basically caught up in the inside politics of the party and the "media" and all the bias, and I still feel sorry for her loss, she didn't get enough justice because the party was forced to protect the certain big college. Even until now. (If you have more questions about these issues just comment and I'll think if I will answer)
So fast forward, I asked what other corruption incidents happened that were covered up? They only told me about the bazaar from years ago and the money was stolen to start a shoe business, then there was this college president who stole money from a project to do a printing business I think, then there was also this person who from the batch gov got money and went to boracay after and there are some other stories. The funny thing here is, the most common part of all the issues is, they all came from one college. Go guess which one. and the reason they were able to get away from it was even though some people from the party wanted to speak up or do the right thing, since their college have no bearing and the alumni from the bigger colleges always get what they want. These culprits can get away with it since they are the "anaks" of these alumni from this big college.
Yes, I would say na at this point you will hate the party, but for my sake, please don't. Because I have seen the other colleges really have principles and integrity it's just that they are often silenced by the people from the bigger college. Even other orgs have divisions, inside politics, difference in opinions of their officers etc, same with our party, There are bad people definitely, but not everyone is, most of them are actually good, its just that the bad people are the people who have "bearing" and have very powerful alumni. Though I have heard that these alumni have retired recently. (Retired means not active anymore) Mind you, I love my college core even if I am not active anymore, even though my college are the only college who has a college president that didn't come from our party, (which I think can be a different topic altogether) I know that our college core had integrity. Too bad the people only believe what they hear and see. Some kind of media control I guess
So there you go! Sorry for the side stories and off topic!"
